Default Global Freestyle Advice

Just got my Global Freestyle assembled and ready to go. I could use some advice.
1- I put an OS91 four stroke in this, is this to much engine ? This planes cg was perfect with this motor with the battery pack under the tank, I was not expecting that.
2- Are the Sport and 3D settings in manual a pretty good starting point?
3- What about flutter, the manual talks about Hinge Gaps for ailerons, would you guys advise that?
4- Also I have heard some rumblings about stripping gears on the aileron servos, is that something I should deal with before I fly it?
5- Any suggestions for a better landing gear?
Thanks in advance

I don't have experience with the Global Freestyle.
However, here are my answers to your questions.
1. as long as your plane weighs within the limit that the factory suggest, you won't have problem. If the plane weighs more than the maximum, make sure that you have plenty of power. OS 91 should be fine.

2. use your dual rate or triple rate settings to start at lower rate of the actual recommendation by manufacturer. Stay safe at the first flight. There is the test flight setting in the manual of Freestyle, I think you can set it as low rate first and sport setting as high setting to start with. If your radio has exponential, use it. Exponential function helps a lot expecially at the first flight.

3. Seal all those hinge line with trim tape, silicone, or covering materials. If the control surfaces are very large, you can also counter balance them to reduce strain to servos and linkages.

4. As long as you have good quality servos without any worn gears in them, you won't have to worry about it much. Just make sure the servos have enough torque to move the control surfaces.

5. Better landing gear? if the mounting is supported good, and your plane is not too heavy for the supplied landing gear, why bother looking for another one? I don't think there is any better landing gear for performance. If you are talking about the weight, then there are several carbon gears available, but cost are higher.

Hope this helps,

I have a Super Tiger .61 in my Freestyle with an APC 12.25x3.75 prop turning 14,000 rpm.Vertical performence is unbelievable, the thing never even slows down. I can hover at half throttle and when you slam it to it,it accellerates vertically like it's tail is on fire! I know the stock gear is flimsy, but I would keep it. I tried a heavier gear on mine.Slowed the plane down and made hovering tougher. There is something about that lightweight gear tucked way up in the body like that, that seems to helps it's "vertical balance",if there is such a thing. I didn't seal any of my hinge lines and have not seen a hint of flutter, even in a power dive.(right before a mind blowing Blender) however,it is very good advice to seal them to make SURE you don't have a problem.I used standard Futaba S3003 servos all around.I think a stronger servo on the rudder would be beneficial for pulling out of knife edge loops, but the standards seem just fine.My plane also balalnced with no added weight.Hope you enjoy yours like I have mine.It is truly an underrated airplane!.
