I was in Tucson over the last few weeks and had the opportunity to watch Chip Hyde and Jason Shulman fly at a local field.
I am convinced these guys ( or at least their thumbs ) are from a different planet.
I watched Chip fly his helicopter and do some things that are too hard to explain. It was an awesome display. I got to see him do his first inverted hover where he was touching the blades on the ground. UNREAL!!
Jason put on a low torque roll display that would blow your mind. He had never flown this plane prior.
Within maybe 10 seconds after taking off the tail was with-in inches of the ground. At one point, he walked onto the runway and torque rolled around himself.
Jason then picked up someones elses plane and proceeded to TR within a few feet of the runway. The plane was a stock Ultra-Stick .40 It didnt have 3D throws or a huge engine. Very impressive!
The plane that these guys were flying is the Doghouse Extreme.
(I have one and its a great plane)
Check it out at.

Yeah, I hear that Jason Shulman guy is almost as good as the top guys. lol You reading this Jason?
I'm just playing around, Jason... you know you're my hero.
I mean:
Seriously... as you know, wgeffon... you were with two of the top four guys in the world. Jason, Christophe, Chip, and Quique are truly in another league, as you say. On any given day any of the four could be the best there is. I'm partial to Jason because of our constant email bantering... and Quique for his great personality.
You just had a real treat being at the same field with those guys. :-)

What field did you see them at here in Tucson. I am one of the fortunite ones I have seen them fly many times and it is nothing short of a great thrill to watch those guys fly. Everytime I see them I am just in ahh as they make them planes and heli's do things I can only dream about.

I have seen some very good pilots. Not national caliber, but very, very good. Coolest thing I saw was after about a 20 foot take off run, he pulled into a barrel roll and touched the wheels back on the ground at the bottom of the loop (which was about 5 feet in diameter).
