Default U-CAN-DO 3D Help

I have the ARF and I was thinking about putting the Saito 100 in it. But I would like recommendations for the servos. Also if there is any changes I need to do to balance it, like moving the fuel tank back or something, please tell me. Also when I get my Saito, how should I mount it? Upside down, upright, or sideways?

Thanks

I had my Saito 120 mounted upside down. If I had it to do all over again I would have nothing but a YS 1.10. The YS has its own pressure regulator (pump) internally, with the Saito you are going to have to get a perry pump to be able to put the tank on the CG. Even if you put the tank up front it wont matter, the 100 will fly it great,, it will be just slightly lacking in pullout in a hover compared to what I like,,, but it will do fine.

I had futaba s3001 servos in my u can do and it did just fine.

As far as CG start out at the recommended 4.75 and work from there. I evntually moved my CG back to about 6" to get mine to hover.

Big ned is right, assuming you have the 60 size you will need a regulator (cline or iorn bay) just to keep it from flooding because the tank will be higher than the carb on the 100. or if you can be quick at starting you can keep it from flooding while fueling with a great planes easy fueler valve but as soon as you unhook the fuel line it will let fuel to the carb thus you dont need to prime, just hurry and start. i have the saito 100 on mine also and it flys real good, i personally dont know about the ys110 YET, but i have a real big suspicion that Ned is right. and i just use jr537 standard servos and they have worked fine but im not real hard on the plane, the hardest i do is a blender and they are doing fine. you do need to upgrade the pushrods to 4-40 or carbon fiber and i would use dubro pinned hinges.

good luck

For servos, I have Hitec 635 for ailerons, Hitec 475 for elevators, and Hitec 5645 for rudder. I had a Saito 100 inverted in my UCD initially, which gave me oscillating idles due to problem described above. Now I have a YS 110, which swings a prop 1" larger than Saito 100 can at the same RPM. Saito 100 is fine if you keep it at 7 lb. Mount the Saito upright to avoid the hassle. Easier to fuel as well. It will balance at 5.5" if you put battery above TE., and will fly very neutral at that point.
