Seems to me that every time I am in my vehicle driving, I am always dreaming of the possibilities of a flight in a feild I am passing by. Wether it is in my vehicle, my work vehicle, or on my motorcycle, I am always looking for that perfect place. It seems I havent found the perfect place for it being power lines, too tall grass, not smooth enough, trees, fences or whatever. The place I have always found that are most perfect are not in the correct wind direction. At my location, the winds are a constant southern wind or if not, strait from the north. Hardly ever an eastern or western wind. We all know that we hate crosswinds in out hobby, so thats why I always scratch that particular location off my possibility list. AM I THE ONLY ONE DOING THIS???

I know exactly what you mean. I can't tell you how many corn fields I have bought in my mind. Now if I only had the cash to make it a reality.

I have a friend that used to do that and one day he finally decided he would just create the perfect flying field. Since he had the means he bought 200 acres of land out in the boonies and turned it into the ultimate R/C airport.... 1000' paved, wind down the runway and sun at your back. See for yourself

My motto: Live to fly! - Fly to live!
Man, that is one awesome private RC field!
I hate the sight of a beautiful golf fairway, there could have been a RC field right there, and there, and there, and there too!

gjeffers, WHEW!! Dang, I thought I was. I have found one locally, but the dang goal post's would prolly get in the way! Youknow, when there is just one object like......say.......a fire hydrant, It will be like a FRAKIN' MAGNET!!! On the other hand, it there were twenty of em' you would never hit one of em. Hmmmm, weird.
Joe
P.S. Hey, gjeffers, look at the UCD 46 thread for your boys plane question.

Here is one for all rc nuts out there.
Have you ate food with a prop????
Well, yes i did. I was building a plane in my shop, which is 15 min away from home. I was starving and stopped at Wendy's. I ordered some chilli, but they forgot to put in a spoon. There was no way I was leaving the shop!!!!
Hows that for being rc crazy?!?

That's why I usually carry a parkflier with me anytime I go somewhere - even to work. I have "tested" most of the fairly open areas along side the road.
And yes, I too have eaten with a prop. ( mexican food, not chili. Thanks for the tip Vsustko22! )

I constantly look for flags to see what the wind is up too. Now my daughter is 4 yrs. old and she watches for water towers. I keep on telling her that is wrong. LOOK FOR FLAGS...

Hey is that field close to humphrey Nebraska? If so my moms cosin has a real rich farmer friend who likes airplanes and he did that with a bunch of land by his farm in nebraska. Kinda looks like what I imagined but I have never been there. I just fly in this kinda small field by my house with my f90.
there is one aother kid I know and he has crashed 3 of his little electric pattern planes into the same darn goal post.
I am only 15 but If I have that kinda money, I shall live in the country and have a hanger with some rc planes and my own real cap or extra, lol thattle never happen.

Hey CraigG, that is one gorgoeus field guy! It's a real dream, where is is at? I travel a lot on business and every time I'm on the road there isn't an open flat field that I pass by that I don't imagine what it would be like to fly there. I do that a lot! When this hobby is in your veins, it's tough not to think that way!
