Effects of higher nitro :

-lower fuel economy (will burn more gas in the same amount of time)
-better throttle response
-better top end
-cooler engine
-better and more reliable iddle

Don't forget to richen your needles when switching to 30% nitro, or your engine will run lean and overheat.

From a strictly flying stand point. The 30% alows me to swing more prop and still get a fast spool up. I fly 3-D with mine. A 13x4W apc is great with 15%. Switch to a APC14x4W and the spool up from a hover is terrible. The difference in top end RPM isn't much from 15% to 30%. The difference in throttle response is night and day.
