Hello everyone, I'm in need of assistance. I would like to know if going from a H9 Twist with a .47 2 stroke and an older non-computer radio, to a Funtana 90 with a suitable 4 stroke (YS 110) and a new computer radio (futaba 9caps) is a wise decision. I have several hours on AFPD and I am very comfortable with the twist at the field and can fly 3d somewhat. Hovering is fairly simple, blenders are a hoot, knife edges are sometimes demanding, rolling harriers seem impossible, yada yada blah blah blah, you get the point. I know that I could stick a .63 or .72 4 stroke on the twist and make things a little better, but, I'd hate to spend the cash on a 4 stroke for the twist only to find that the money could have been put towards the F90. I do live in an area where wind is a factor, and feel that the larger and heavier F90 could handle the breeze better than the twist. But before I do anything I would like your educated opinion as to weather or not you feel this would be a wise choice. Thanks[sm=cool.gif]

If you can do all of that with a non-computer radio, with that airplane, then look out when you have dual rates, mixing and exponential in your repoirtore. You will be awesome dud. Just get some expert help showing you the ropes and mixes on the radio. I have two of these radios. The old version and the new Super version. They are so simple to program and set up it is unbelieveable. Just one good hint. Make sure you go into the auxiliary program switch assignments and null all the auxiliary channels, before you start mixing accross channels. The book doesn't cover that really well. Wish they had automatically nulled everything in the core basic programming, but some genius a Futaba decided to pre-assign each channel to a switch for some reason. Other than that, it is so easy compared to the old 6's and 8's they had.
Happy Landings.

I had a twist. It is close-coupled and has too many bad tendencies for really good 3D stuff. You will be amazed at the difference the long moment of the Funtana gives you and how much better and cleaner the moves are. I have a Funtana 90 with an OS .91 FX on it and fly pattern practice with it. I think the YS 110 will be a way better combination than the engine I have. There are several good threads on this airplane. You may want to read them and see what applies to your flying style. I already mentioned your radio decision, so have fun with this. Great airplane for the money.
