Default Big Bipe Problem

I have an Eagle Aviation Christian Eagle with a Quad 75xl.....All though it flys scale...its verticle is limited.....With my trusty fish Thrust o meter I get about 24lbs static thurst from a PK Plus 24/10..... PLane weighs 26lbs wet/ready to fly

I think even with 30lbs of thrust I 'd still see limited vert..

Either I need a better prop Maybe a Menz S or ULTRA or More ponies under the hood...
I'm just not up on the newer engines available......Some say the ZDZ80 has the power of a 100......Some say a DA -100 or 3W

I thought maybe a 3w or ZDZ 120......Just would like some verticle authority...and some Hover power......

Any suggestions would be appreciated....

I was told FRank Noll flew his on a 4.2 (on alcohol) I can't imagine there was that much HP gain ...But it really takes about everthing its got and a little dive to get a fair loop..for that 75.....Spins the prop about 5700-5800.......Will spin a Zinger(ug)24/10 about 6300-6400 but less thrust on the fish o meter.

Try a Pro Zinger 24/8. The regular Zingers are not know for there performance, but the pro's are not bad. I have never had much luck with PK's. With the 24/8 you should see 6800-7000 and around 26-28 pounds thrust.

Default Big Bipe Problem

I have a quadra 75xl on my ILLUSION bipe from Frank and I use a 24x10 zinger prop, the verticle is pretty great in my opion the plane will hover and slowly pull out and the plane weighs 24lbs dry. What ignition are you using, also what is the fuel mixture. I think the plane should fly a large loop no problem with with this setup. If I can help in any way feel free to email me I would be glad to share and try to help.

GOOD LUCK
Fred

Default ZDZ 80

Get the ZDZ 80 !

It will cure all of your power problem.

My brother has one in the exact same airplane.
It is truly unlimited.
If we could do it it would torque roll right on the deck and accelerate going straight up.

It a little over 24 lbs with smoke system.

It truly is AWESOME !
