Hey poorbs...I built the engine box as suggested by Lee on the web site. I then installed my cowl, then stood the aeroplane on the tail and hung the engine/spinner backplate/mount/box from the cowl ring until everything look good...then zapped the box inplace.
Don't know if theres of exactly 3.5/1 degree in there but it flys just fine. It's always a problem fixing thrust angles with a completly removable cowl... thats why I prefere a one piece cowl/body design.

What engine header pipe are you using? I have an OS 1.40/hatori header and there's no probs with the header hiting the pipe tunnel. If it's a similar combo, sounds like there's a problem there somewhere.
