I'm running an APC 18x6W prop and need a spinner suitable for such a wide prop/hub area. I could probaby go with a Tru Turn but since this is for a "cheaper" airplane a lesser $$ spinner would be preferred. Also, since I'm running an OS160 if there is an adapter nut needed let me know as well...Thanks!

Depends on the diameter. Tru Turn makes the best.

All Tru Turn spinners require an adapter because its the adapter kit that supplies the double-ended nut needed to attach the spinner cone bolt. The nut is wide on one end to go on the tip of the engine drive shaft and smaller on the other side to accept the smaller cone bolt.

Dave Brown Vortech spinners. If they don't have one that comes with the opening you want, they'll cut it for you. I think the charge is only $5. dbproducts.com is the website.

I just use a dremmel on plastic spinners

By that size you really want to be invested in an aluminum spinner - espeically on large 4 strokes even more so.
I run 18x6W and 18x8W APC's and buy the tru-turns made to fit those specific props from Tower, but like you said they are not cheap.

Say, what is the part number for an OS160 adapter nut? Went to Tower and couldn't find the listing? What is the diameter and pitch of the 160's threads?

Go to www.tru-turn.com and they have a look up deal for what engine you have. I just got a new one in about 2 weeks ago.

Double check that on their site.
