I'm considering setting up a Diablo 2000 with an OS 160 FX with a side-mounted muffler.
Does anyone have an opinion on how it will compare noise-wise with a rear-exhaust, pipe equiped engine? (E.G OS 140 RX with factory pipe?)
Are there any after-market mufflers that reduce the noise more without robbing power?
I might also need a short extention to clear the cowl. Any leads on a source for one?

The Turbo Jett muffler is awesome,I have one on a 1.60 ,it is very quiet, and increases performance.

I've got Bisson's pitts mufflers on both of my 1.6's. Sounds and runs great. But of course I've got nothing to compare it against :-( But I will tell you since I bolted them on I haven't had to ever look at them again. For me that's a big plus, if I'm futsing with a cranky engine I'm not flying...
