Default Using incidence meters?

Greetings,

How do the incidence meters work? Usually, are we talking about the type that Tower sells that use a laser beam? I've yet to purchase one but probably need to soon. Is the most common use checking the angle of attack of the wing vs. the stab? (Or perhaps checking the two wing halves separately) Also is this the easiest way to set the "neutral point" of each aileron?

Does anyone have a good link to helpful info in this area?

Thanks loads!

Ernie

Default RE: Using incidence meters?

I use an incidence meter to check the wing against the tail and also each wing to each other (as on a large plane where each wing slides on a tube). Just like you describe. They are not useful for checking neutral point of aileron in my opinion. I set this visually. I have one that uses a laser level. You could make one easily now that the laser levels sell so cheap.
