the saito.72 is expensive. is it worth it? would the os.61 or mds.58 be good choices? want reliability and low maintence. other choices with plenty of power but not too heavy?

I ran an Irvine .46 for the first 100 flights then changed to the Irvine .53
Now will hover and "tork". Easy and as inexpensive as it gets. You alone decide what "plenty of power" means. I run an OS 91/4S in a UCD-3D and it is more to my liking (still fly the Pizazz) as it has more at low throttle settings (engine tork).
The Irvines have given great power and reliability.

From my reviewing posts in the past few months the 4 cyl 72 or ys 63 are best for that plane but if money is factor I have seen os 50 and irvine 53 are favorites.
search pizzaz pizazz and 53 and 50 and 72 and 63 good luck. Note Im putting a ys 63 on my new something extra which I think is a simular plane though not exact.

I had an OS 70 four stroke in mine which flew it very well. In order to save some weight and gain some power, I now have an OS 50 SX in it. This engine turned the PIZAZZ into a whole new airplane! It weighs in at 5.25 pounds and has excellent vertical with hovering requiring about 1/3 throttle.
Today a friend loaned me a Performance Specialties tuned pipe to try and I couldn't believe the difference. It turned the plane into a vertical rocket! (15000rpm on a 12-4 APC,10% SIG Fuel) I am a huge four stroke fan, but have to say I'm sold on the 50SX for the fun fly type planes. The down side of the engine is the price at about 150.00 USD, but when a .46 is too small, and a .61 too big, I think that it's worth the price.

I have a Saito 100 on my Pizzaz. It is absolutley the most powererful setup I ever flew. Yes you do have throttle and you must control it. It will fly fast or VERY slow. Wide open only on vertical. I know, motor is not cheap but its worth it. Dave
