Default Global Quality Kits Raven

Does anyone know where to purchise a global quality kit's Raven. I have seen numerous pics of this aircraft on foreign web-sites. The aircraft can be viewed here... http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_gu...cfm?kit_id=822 .

Thank You, Matthew Fehling

You don't want to buy one, do you? They are TANKS and overall crappy fliers. I don't even know if they still make them, but www.hobbypeople.net would be the place to go

I had one I put it together as lite as I could and it was still a heavy ,I slowed mine down to get it to spin, it spun nice and flat right into the ground , overall not a grate experience

Had one 10+ years ago, it was a brick. Great looking plane, however not a good flyer. Sold it at an auction for 200 and thought I ripped them off.

I have one framed up,but never finished.I believe the kit is collectible.Wayne Handley edition.Dunno what I'll do with it,as mentioned, maybe not a great flyer, but desirable to some.May sell it,got box manual and decals etc.

Sorry guys ... the Raven is one of the nicest (not the best for sure) plane I have flown, I have not experienced any of the so called TANK flying attributes. My RAVEN is the 40 sized one, I was told by everyone that its not flyable and I got cheesed off with the LHS. After a few months I said "Let's Do or Die". I used a TT46 and the APC 12.25x3.75. The lift off was easy ... landing was easy, not hot at all, just slightly faster, maybe like some one landing a WM SS40 on the fast side. I did loops etc and it never once snapped on me. I think its all based on set up, I have retired mine as the plane is no longer in production. I wanted to take her up a month back but I removed my servos without attaching a line ... sigh.

Oh I forgot to say that i DO NOT fly turbines and am not a flying guru.

Does anyone still have one of these?
I have one in a box that needs to be built.
I only read one review from TIANCI saying that the plane was worth a darn to fly.
I have a few caps that are hard to fly...... for an unexperieced flyer. Does this plane fly like a CAP?
I do remember someone telling me that the RAVEN is the same as an EDGE 540 and that edge based the 540 directly from the RAVEN

Very possibly true.I do like mine, never flown it,but for the more old school pilot, this still may be a kit, that is desirable and a treat to to fly and own.

The 40 size raven was a nice arf. Mine flew well with a Mag 80 but it had a high wing loading and would snap.

When you know a plane is snappy you always use less throw, make it slightly nose heavy and if you can add in some wash out (raising the ailerons 1/8"). All this will help the plane to be stable. But mine was a swett thing to fly, never snapped on me and I was not landing that hot at all. Its all in the set up.

I have the .60- .90 size kit.
I am going to build it this fall. Thanks for the advice on the wash-out of the ailerons.
I think this plane will fly like a dream.
Does anyone have any suggestions for lightening this plane or building it?

Julian - no point trying to lighten it, can't really see where it can be done. Have fun trying to get the push rods to exit the fuse! Hehehe ... I had a whale of a time. Do fly her with something like a Saito 100.

I was thinking a saito .91 is the 100 that much more powerful than the .91?
I want to fly this as an aerobatic or pattern style ship. It is not going to be for 3D !

The SA100 is lighter than the 91 ... power wise I am sure both are almost the same.

Ralph - this plane looks good flies very well but its not a real 3D plane, the tail moment is short and she is a little over weight for good 3D. The ailerons are not that big at all, its more aerobatic than 3D.

I bought a global raven WH edition several months ago. The original tape on the box wasn't even cut. I had a friend that built one with a supertiger 90, of course it was tail heavy and didn't fly great. I knew all the problems with the kit before I bought it, I just like to collect kits. You can fix the balance issues with a few mods. I might sell it if anyone's interested.

i have the .60-.90 kit i am building right now, what have people been using for pushrods? Can the servos be mounted in the tail of the plane on the outside, or does taht make it to tail heavy?

I have one of these as well. Mine's pretty much NIB. I don't know if it's any kind of special edition or anything. One day I'll build it and fly it just to show all of you who say this plane is doo-doo!

I've flown plenty of doo-doo that everyone else really loved, and some doo-doo that only I loved. Dif'rent strokes for dif'rent folks, right?

I did a beautiful job on one of these kits. It weighed about 9lbs with an OS 91 surpass. Flew like a warbird and high speed stalls were effortless. Flew so bad I removed all equipment and stored it in my garage. When I got tired of looking at it I jumped on it in my driveway.

I have one .91 Kit just finished. Was professionally built, and it only has 2 flights on it. The engine has not been break in yet. It has a ASP.91 red head engine, i can send pictures if interested. It flies GREAT, excellent slow flight charactristics, and it was tail heavy on it's first flight, but it has been solved with nose weight.

Thanks

email me to [email protected] if interested
