Default DA or MVVS for 30%

Does anyone know the RTF weight of a DA 50 or a MVVS 58/evo looking to put it on a 30% yak. I want this plane to have truly unlimited performance and not repeat the mistake i made with my DPM Edge and Moki 210. I know the performance of a DA is good and MVVS claims to have allot more power Just curious how they stack up.

Lets put it this way. The DA weighs less than 60 ounces with the engine, standoffs, stock muffler, and ignition module, and will put out almost 30 pounds of static thrust at sea level.
The Evolution weighe 64.9 ounces by itself, then add another 6 ounces at least for a light muffler, at least 3 for the ignition and 2 or 3 for the standoffs...you are basically a pound heavier and have way, way, way, more power than you will ever need. A very bad choice for most 30%ers, imo. It is more for planes in the 20 pound range, and if you build any of the currently available Yaks that heavy, then you've ruined it anyway and it doesn't matter what engine you use, anyway.
Stick with the DA, use a stock muffler, li-ions, wood prop, CF spinner, no smoke, and no wheel pants and you should not go over 16 pounds, even with the copycat Yak. My Yak weighs 16 pounds, even, and that is including a full tank of fuel. I fly at 7000 feet ASL and am still breaking the engine in and have unlimited vertical and hover pullout power.
BTW, I know they are hard to come by, but EF is the only Yak I recommend...

The Toc yak is a gret buy as well. And less expensive. and IMO (ive flown both) fly as good or better than the EF Yak. Best of luck, Go with the DA.

Ask around to find out if others with a da have had to add weight to the nose. If you need weight it might as well be in the form of a more powerful engine. My composite arf witha da-50 was going to need weight in the nose. Instead I added a 3w75 and bingo perfect. Tons of power and others with the same plane like the performance of mine with a 3w75 over thiers with a da-50 and pipe.

Thanks I appreciate the responce, I was leaning towards the DA to begin with and I guess i would have to throw everything in, and the kitchen sink to make this thing perform poorly with a DA.

Hey I got a 30% Flame TOC yak on the build and am expecting a evolution, same as mvvs 58 in next week for it.

I Previously had a F90 with a saito 100 and I swore I would never go through that again. So I ordered myself lots of power.

I think it will be an awsome combination. I am not sure about the whole weight deal but I am told that it will ballance perfectly and I think the plane will come in at like 16.5lbs or less with the stuff I am using. Awsome plane, build is awsome and I am really glad to hear that it flys like the EF yak. I hope mine does.

I am right at sea level but for somereason I just wanted the more powerful engine, oh well I think its going to be awsome.
