Default Evolution 58, placement on firewall 30% YAK

I have a problem, I ordered this engine for my 30% Yak that will weigh in at the most 17lbs. It should be a 3D beast with it but the Firewall on the plane is so dang small. I drew the thrust lines on the wall and made a cross where the center of the prop shaft should be.

I can get the engine to line up on the virticle line but on the horizontal line, which is even with the wings, when I line the engine up there, the two holes for bolts on the bottom of the engine mount are pointing at air instead of the wood on the firewall.

I can line the engine up so that all four holes in the engine mount are on the wood of the firewall and the only problem is that the engine is about 1 inch at the most higher than it should be. Now I know this maybe a big problem, or not?[]

what effect if any will it have on flight perforemance? Please help me!!!!

I could just cut a new firewall that was a little a little longer up and down glue it in and reinforce it. Would that be enough. The engine did not come with any standoffs and I am thinking that the drive washer must be in a different place than it will be if I just bolt the engine to the firewall. Any body know where I could get some for a engine of this size, Yes it does swing a 26x10 at like 6500rpm or maybe more.

I really need advice, please help me, I will do what you say

Extend the bottom of the firewall to get it centered. You may have to cut it off and start all over again but that is probably going to be your fix. I know on my 30% Carden cap the top of the firewall is extended so you dont have the same problem you are talking about. If you can cut it off without too much trouble I would start there and build a new firewall. Good Luck.

Pete

P.S. DO NOT move the thrust line, the airplane will NOT fly right. PM me your number if you need more help.
