What servos for a Funtana 90?
I am looking for new servos for a Funtana 90. What is everybody using? It is set up for a pull-pull on the rudder and it will have a gas engine on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

5645's would be awsome on everything and the place to buy them is servo city.
On the elevator does have lots of authority, I flew probably like 100 times with it at 45 degrees deflection. now I maxed it out to like 60 and 60% expo on high rates the plane is truely awsome. You get much more power for walls and such.
KYLE dominated everyone elses funtana with 645's so you could probably do fine with those.

Sorry, old chap. The gas engine idea is wonderful but it may well ruin the light feeling that we get flying the Funtana 90. Just too heavy.
I used Futaba 3305 servos and they are serving me very well. They are relatively cheap and have plenty of power.
How about letting us all know how the gas engine works out. The firewall is very weak and you will have to do some substantial reinforcing and perhaps lay fibreglass inside the nose section to tie everything together. I did the fibreglass but still had problems keeping the engine on with a Saito 150.

3dbob,
The engine that I have is a 23.6cc Echo I've trimmed it down pretty good I will probally go with an electric ignition too. I'm just trying to see if I can get enough power out of it. I will definetly do some reinforcing on it in places. What is the AUW of yours with the Saito 150?
Thanks,
Pete

I was shooting for 10lbs. AUW I'm not sure if I can hit that wet weight though.
We'll see when I get it all together.
