I use Radio South Blue CA hinges, and foam safe thin CA and have not had one break. I space them 1/4" from the edge of the surface, and not spaced more than 4" apart. I think that regular thin CA (not foam safe) is more brittle and caues the hinge to fail, and foam safe CA cures slower and makes a better bond between the hinge and the wood.
