Default Slightly OT-3D "thrust vectoring" video

There's a video posted by the rcadmin that has the title "Real Plane-3D with thrust vectoring" that was posted on May 16, 2005.

I spent 22 years in the Navy, and had the opportunity to not only watch in RT the video you posted, I went back to the USSR and flew in a Sukhoi Su-27 with that very pilot about 3 years later. The plane shown in the video is an Su-33, a variant of the Su-27-the SU-33 can take off from a carrier without the aid of a catapult, and is HIGHLY maneuverable!

The video posted shows NO thrust vectoring-the stunts you see are strictly the skill of the pilot combined with the superior handling and abilities of the -33.

It's a good thing that American pilots never had to come up against that aircraft with a capable pilot at the controls!

Well I didn't see that thing do any torque rolls...its a good thing that Russian pilot didn't have to come up against Chip Hyde at the controls. I don't see how doing 3D tricks in arial combat is going to threaten out pilots. The video was entertaining but I for one still feel comfortable that our military aircraft can get the job done.

Think about this-you're flying a Red Flag hop over Nevada-you are in a F/A-18F Super Hornet, the OPFOR pilot is in a Su-33. He's on your 6 with missiles tracking-you dump thrust and hit the speed brakes, and he shoots past you. Now you are tracking him, when you see his aircraft go into a tailfirst slide with the nose pitched into the vertical-there's no way you can throttle down quickly enough, and you fly under him. He has look down, shoot down radar, and fires two IR missiles.....

There's no second place in ACM!

Believe what you want-there are not many American pilots with the skill to yank a Sukhoi into a "Cobra Strike", and even fewer who could defend successfully against it. There are several Russian Republic pilots who could give our boys a run for the money and a lot of grief.

assuming the duct tape doesn't fall off or they had enough $$$ to fill the fuel tank...

HMMM I'd use my 40 Wat plasma rifle to set off his ejection seat. They still use shook up cokes right.
