After doing a lot of thinking about my involment in this hobby I realized I'm wasting way too much energy in it. I've entered over a thousand posts in just under one year. While I have enjoyed the comments and have benefited a great deal from many of the responses I feel I may have caused more harm than good. For this reason I am going to leave the forums for a time. A long time. The only reason I make this last post is to say goodby to the friends I've made (quite a few) and to apologize to any whose feelings I may have hurt. (quite a few) Certainly that was not my intent but when you feel passionate about things, comments are made that don't reflect common curtiousy. For that I am truly sorry. I have learned much in my short time here and have enjoyed much. But it is past time for me to leave and time for someone else to move the threads along.
Anyways, goodby and good luck to all. Remember to give more than you receive.
Thanks
Barry

Umm, you are not quitting flying, are you? Just quitting the online posting, I hope.
I know how you feel. Sometimes there are posts that I wanted to make, but after looking at it, I felt it probably doesn't feel very constructive or edifying to people. So I ended up not submitting some posts that I've typed up.
But look at it this way, it's better to have friction happen in the forum virtually than to have it happen with people you physically interact with. Growing lesson, I guess. I still love to email you though. Feel free to PM me.
For the rolling harrier, I was struggling for a year or so, then I asked Andrew Jesky for a tip. He got me going on the right track, and after another half year, I finally got it down to where I can control it, instead of getting controlled by it. It really is one of the most difficult maneuvers.

That's too bad Barry!!
Hope you reconsider your decision... Just cut back the time spend...
And I hope it's not "others" that don't agree with other's comments!!
on this or that.... Everyone's different and for sure there are different
opinions/views of things... So to me there are no right or wrong
comments/views here... It only can be wrong if you do not learn from
the knowledge that can be gained here and other sources.. And if it is
....... The Hell with them!!............................
And for sure, You can let the forum go... But not RC.... ??
Anyway... It's been great... Keep it light and Real!!
Email or PM anytime!!

[:-] i think he might have gotten discouraged from the Honest reviews he has done.. and if its anything like when I get in to one of those bickering matches.. he probably got PMed to death by a buch of people..
or maybe he is being held hostage and blackmailed by the Funtana clan since he dont like them,,[sm=drowning.gif]
i love a little constructive bickering every now and then.. nothing people up here say is the law anyway. just a personal opinion.

Don't forget that sound ideas come from rebels. Einstein was a rebel, so was Jesus.
Heck, stay in there kid. Different ideas are always welcome.

You can't leave Barry. [>:] You're more important than Super Glue on a broken prop. More usefull than duct tape in an ubduction. Even more importan than Milk Bones at a dog show.....[8D]
Besides, your opinions, comments, and experience are very much in demand here. Your recent review was the best I've ever seen on RCU. If some people didn't agree with your findings, too bad for them. Let them write there own....[8D]

Barry,
I just picked up on this and you must reconsider. This is coming as you know from someone that you agreed once or twice to disagree with. Opinions are like *****holes, everyone has one and IMHO your contributions have far outweighed any negatives. I agree with Sean with the exception that I have typed and sent some posts that in retrospect probably shouldn't have. Please stay with us and maybe as I have learned "limit the input sometimes"

He didn't say He was leaving the hobby I dont think?
If you are gonna leave your reviews and that whole post you started, even with the bickering were only the best reviews of planes I have ever read, and there were 3 of them!!!!
People like you are what make this forum a great place!
You posted almost everywhere and gave me advice!
BARRY'S REVIEWS ARE LIKE WHEN MICHAEL JORDAN HIT THE GAME WINNING SHOT TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND THEN ENDED HIS CAREER!
WONDERFUL CAREER BARRY

You are one of the prominent personalities on this site, and one that I always look forward to hearing from. Your honesty is a strength, not a weakness. Your desire to share your opinions with others is noble. Your decision to leave the forum is one made for your own reasons, and not for us to second guess. I hope you will take a break for a while and then find your way back to us. Perhaps, after a while, you will have an overwhelming desire to once again share in our discussions and put forth your thoughts for all of us to take however we so choose, and in doing so, come to the realization that not everyone will find favor in your words. But, if you can make a positive impact on even one other person, then you have gone a long way in helping someone else to enjoy the thrill that this sport is to so many of us, all over the world. God Bless you, Barry!

Barry, I've read all of your stuff and can't find a single statement that warrants a public apology. If its a break that you need, then so be it. I take a lot of breaks, by just skipping over some of the absurd posts that find their way in here. Relax, enjoy your break and never compromise your integrity to simply appease the masses. Good luck, Joe
