I have no experience with 4-strokes but I did set it up and tune it per the instructions. It idles pretty good, goes from idle to full just fine on the bench. When I take off and fly around it makes a slight knocking noise at 1/2-full throttle. When I went I went into sustained vertical the engine would die. What's the deal? Is the high end to lean?

One side note: the Showtime has great glide characteristics! I did 3 deadstick landings today with no problems on it's maiden flights!

Check your muffler to see if it is loose. I had a similar noise on a .72 Saito and you must physically check/attempt to move the muffler to ascertain if it has come loose. I don't know if that would have any effect on the engine dying however...

How many tanks have been ran through the motor ?? And also what type of nitro are you using ?? brand and mix

Been through about 1 gallon. I'm using wildcat 2&4 cycle fuel. It is a 20% nitro / 20% oil
