I am flying a UCANDO-90 with an ASP-90 FS and an APC 14x6 prop. It will hover at around half throttle. I was advised to try a Graupner 14.5x 4 to get getter throttle response. However, while the throttle response at low speed is great, it now needs full throttle to hover.
Should I ngo for a larger diameter prop while keeping the pitch low?

It should turn 15x4W @ 9800 rpm on 15% nitro fuel, as my Magnum 91 4-stroke does exactly that. It has about 9.5 lb. of thrust. If your UCD weighs 7.5 lb, you will require 80% throttle to hover.
I've found that APC 14x6 generates a little more full-throttle thrust than APC 15x4W on the same engine. But mid-throttle thrust is a different story. 15x4W is a good prop for UCD 60, as more prop blast will benefit you.
