Default Flat spin

Flying a Tiger 2 (not 60 size) with a Saito 56 and it will do some aerobatics, but not a knife edge and I don't think a flat spin. I may not have found the method as yet, which is why I come to the experts to get help. It will do a vertical spin nicely, but really scares me when I try to put in some other control. I climb to a good level and slowly reduce throttle till the nose drops, then kick in full left rudder, hold full "up" elevator and full left aileron. I let it rotate several times then recover. Does a very nice spin. Got suggestions from the guys at the hobby shop.......apply power and the nose will come up....or use opposite aileron while in the spin.
Got good altitude and tried full throttle diving and spinning and immediately backed off as I could see where that was going.
Next attempt I went from left to full right aileron with left rudder and it started spinning the other direction. Looked neat, but didn't go flat.
Maybe the Tiger 2, along with being incapable of a knife edge also won't do a flat spin. I run three different props on the engine...12X6, 11X7 and 11X6, all APC. Been flying three years now, and have a lot to learn. Appreciate your help.

Default Flat spin

George,

You may wan to try an Inverted flat spin. Some planes that wont go flat upright will inverted.

Start inverted, power at about 1/4 and as the plane slows push left aileron, right rudder and full down elevator all at the same time. This should give you and inverted spin. Leave a little throttle in to tighten up the spin. As it starts to tighten up slooooowly move the aileron to the right. A little at a time. if its going to do it you'll have to figure out just how much aileron to add to flatten it out.

Aft CG helps if you are comfortable with playing witht he CG of your plane.

Hope it helps.

Thanks, Joe. Didn't realize that was so vital. Gonna move control rods for max travel and try again.
