Small size weed eater line is cheap and works really well. Drill 1/16" holes, run completely around the tips and fuselage bottom and CA in place. Weighs next to nothing and has never failed for me. It doesn't haveto be "drum" tight, only tight enough to keep the tail from failing.

those both are good ways but to add my 2 cents i use sulivan tailwire kit and like them alot because not only do they work great but they look great also

Kevlar cable from Sullivan. $10 for 30 feet. Use some thin CA and balsa blocks with slots cut in them. Glue the blocks to the bottom of the plane's fuse and run the two kevlar loops through holes in the stabs and fin. Start running the Kevlar through the fin then the stabs. Pull the slack out and glue both Kevlar ends together in the slot of the balsa block. Stuff little slivers of balsa into the holes where the Kevlar passes through. Trim the slivers flush. Then wick thin CA into the holes with a hobby knife. Nothing can break these braces. 400 foot blenders time after time, no effect on them.
This system is virtually weightless. Beware of braces that add tail weight and screw up your CG. That's what happened on my Funtana 40 so I came up with this idea.

Which wire? The Sullivan kit? Just watch adding weight to the tail. It'll fly tail heavy and you may not be happy about that. That happened on my Funtana 40. All those Sullivan parts add up, even if using the kevlar rope with the kit.

No I was thinking somewhere around with thin fishing leaders wires they don't weigh much at all.

The Berkley Steelon type fishing line is great -it looks good too- just make it snug--- double check it fo perfect alignment -then hit er with the thin ca-it grabs the covering and never lets go
I did a few rigged ARFS for magazine articles - and tried a few approaches some stock -they all worked but the thin line CA' ed in position is my favorite

Tough stuff, and works great
