Default Setup for OMP 48" Katana V2 46

Hey there everyone in the vast R/C Universe cyber-info-network!

I am getting back into nitro slimers. I have been only flying electrics (Katana Mini, Mini Funtana, EFlite Yak, AeroWorks profile Sukhoi, etc) for a few years due to no nitro fields around. I have recently moved to San Antonio TX and now have flying fields!

After some research, I just placed an order for the 48" TMPro / OMP Katana V2 46 ARF. Now I am trying to decide on the engine setup. Sitting in the closet I still have a OS 40FX and a 46FX. I have also been looking at a OS 50SX, YS 63, Saito 72, Saito 82 but am concerned about the vibration of the four-strokes on the profile. Should I stick with my 46FX which has run great on everything I ever put it on? With a 12x4 APC?

I am looking for good climb out power but do not need the insane overpowered rocket out.

Thank you in advance for any opinions/personal experience with slimer profile set-ups.

If money is not an issue, go with YS .63 or Saito .72. These planes absorb 4st vibrations just fine.

I'm assuming that on a 4-4.5 lb plane the Saito .82 would be WAY overkill, so I have sorta eliminated that one.

I cannot speak for yhe OMP Katana but i do have the accel katana with a saito 82 on it. Yes it is way over powered but that does not mean you have to fly at WOT. My accell katana beleive it or not is still flying great and has had no problems. I do agree with you that OMP has a great line of products. Also alot of the saito 82's comes out lighter than the 72.

46V2 mean the size of the engine...
it is a 46 size airplane and fly great with it...

the 46FX with 12x4 APC or PRO peopeller

I would recomand stick to that setup, its cheap, easy and fly perfect...

just dont forget to order both colors, the white base and yellow base, they both awesome..... just beacause!!
