HIGH SOCIETY 3-D,

http://www.f3alorenz.de/

Does any body have any experience of this aircraft? Looks like a 2m x 2m Majestic clone. Is a creadable 3d aircaft or just an F3A with big control surfaces? Also what are you powering in with?

Thanks

Kris

As its a majestic clone it is just like a majestic and it flies like a majestic
So you power it with a YS 140 e.t.c e.t.c

Ah... its has a few differences. Not seen one fly but I believe Phil at Probuild is bringing them in along with the all composite Rhapsody and Rhapsody 3D. Its well priced for a Majestic copy though, I mean when you add up what goes into the ZN I'd say its a bargain.

Default It is a clone.

Hi Kris,
Wow, looks like they waxed up a Majestic fuselage and wrapped a mold around it. Being a German product, however, it probably weighs more (a joke from my days in Heidelberg; they build them REALLY strong down there, including hard wood for leading and trailing edges).

I got your phone call. I was in the USA for seven weeks. If you are interested in the Synergy 3D (no longer classified), well, it's been distributed everywhere but in Belgium. I'm awaiting my copy. We are really hoping that production swings into high gear in the next few months.

Cheers,
Mark

Yes it is very very similar to a majestic so you treat it like one (Ys 140 e.t.c)

sorry guys i didn't mean to post my last post twice , so just ignore it.If you look at the majestic vs. funtana thread in 3d forum you will find that the kit has been described as very similar in weight and quality to the Znline Majestic

Why is your price double that of Lorenz's ?
If you are importing them then there is just no way the post would cost more than £100(probably a lot less!)So, assuming this , overall cost to get
a finished High Society posted to your door is a maximum of £550 .............
If you look on the Lorenz website they are selling them for less than half your price.(619 euros works out at about £400)!Any body in the UK could travel all the way to Germany for the weekend, pick up a finished High Society ,then come back again , and ALL THE TRAVEL COSTS THE MANUFACTURER and back PLUS A HIGH SOCIETY WOULD COST LESS THAN THE PRICE OF PROBUILD'S INTRODUCTION PRICE.And you get a holiday as well! If you don't want a holiday then you can get them to post one to your door for around £550.Probuild's price is almost £900!!!!!!!

Sorry to be rude or blunt or anything but it seems that probuild's price is a total rip off . :boxing: :surprised

Default Re probuild and prices...

Yes you guys are correct about the prices on the Lorenz's web site, but probuild along with many other companies are trying to run a business and not a charity. It costs money and big money at that to run a business and stock it. Just take a look at your local model shop and try to work out how much the stock they have is worth. I guess our local one here probably has £250 000 worth of gear, a lot of cash to have wrapped up, even more if it on bank overdraft. Then there are rates, taxes and staff to pay, electric bills etc. I have bought YS engines from Probuild, knowing that I can get them cheaper from Singapore direct. But what happens if they go wrong or require parts etc. May be if I bought form the far east and require support for probuild they may not be there to help.

Still just my pennies worth

Kris

I have dealt with Probuild, and while their prices are a bit high, they seem to put 110% into everything, and any time i had any trouble with my engine, Phil was always, and I really MEAN ALWAYS, there, to listen. They give first class customer support.

Too right, Probuild are great, and remember, how many businesses are into specific performance aerobatics in the UK here?? none others or very few, that's why we need a specific one.... the guys at probuild have to make a living for themselves, and the effort they put into their work as Robert said is fantastic. No other company i have dealt with have offered their mobile and home numbers to assist ME in THEIR free time...

My last two packages from them got lost in the post.... the first was simply due to nobody being in when they delivered, and then royal mail took it to the depot and they have really stupid hours to collect... that took a while, and the second one, the courier kept the parcel in their depot and claimed they didnt have it.... i phoned phil and told him Amtrak's story, he used his OWN time to find out where it had gone... it was eventually delivered later that hour!

Whilst's probuild's service is some of the best i have seen, it's a shame the british mail companies always manage to lose stuff!

Also.... who else stocks YS parts in the UK?? Aswell as ZN stuff?? and other specific types? I know PPUK and F3AUK stock them, but i will never deal with them, and also.. . their prices are waayyy higher than probuild's too.

Keep up the good work... you're prices are what i class as 'reasonable' .....

i shop at steve webb m&h.... they have some really cheeky staff there (not all, but some ..... a clubmate actually picked an ARTF fuz up out of its box and asked a lad why it was bent... the lad was determined that it was sidethrust!!) and they're overpriced too... i can take a magazine in and show them the latest prices at the competition, and i can guarantee it's about 10% lower!

I don't mind paying extra to get the service, and to help *other fellow aeromodellers* get on with their profession.

Back to the thead please now1

Hi Guys
Sorry if I have sounded rude or criticising of Probuild , Its just the fact that I had always wanted a really good plane with which I could take my skills further- just like a Majestic but I could never afford one at Zn line's prices. I looked on Lorenz's website and wow I couldn't believe my eyes, their price was for once one that I could afford. I couldn't wait once I heard that Probuild would be stocking them, and I assummed that their price would be fairly similar- finally a Majestic I could afford. You can imagine the shock I felt when The price was once again one that was way out of reach.
I suppose that it was probably my fault for not taking into account the fact that there is a small
market and therefore retailers need to put their prices out of reach of some people for such prestigious models. Its just the fact that I was so used to the engine sellers Just Engines- they import engines from all over the world and they have impeccable service and Paul is always willing to help with any problems that you encounter - just like Probuild. the difference is that Just Engine's prices are the lowest I have seen . Food for thought perhaps?
Anyway it looks like i will never be able to afford a Majestic afterall.(unless I win the lottery of course or decide to go to Germany)
(sorry welsh 3d lets get back to the subject)

Its 140 size or 90 size and based upon a very famous design.... naturally as ever I will post it here.. and naturally Biggles you will get first exclusive... I'm very excited about this... seems AA is really starting to take hold!

Luke, thanks for your clarification... at least you were man enough to come back.

Agreed on Just Engines... I flew for them last year, not for sponsorship, just voluntary as a thanks for all their services...

I wanted a majestic, but couldnt get one, so i bought a funtana instead... the probuild team are expectign it to be nearly as good if not the same as or better than the majestic! lots cheaper and much easier to assemble... £310 at probuild.... £260 minus shipping from germany .... i think 310 is fair enough.

While we are on this, I can't decide between a ZN Majestic, or IAM version of the PL prod Excellence?

I doubt anybody has flown both, but any experience or opinion would be welcomed?

If anyone wants a cheap-er AA ship like the french stuff, look at www.camodels.com.ar in a while, as they will be releasing a new plane called the Fantasy, that should be good. It will be ALOT cheaper to than the French items.
