Default 3250 or 45cc?

Supertigre 3250 or 45cc gas engine which one would be better suited for 3d in the hangar 9 extra 260? 45cc weighs 65oz with 4.1 hp.
The super tigre weighs 42oz with 3.2 hp which one is better please help!

My choices in order would be

DA50

ST3250 with a regulator.

I would probably try the 45cc the ccrc? from troy built for $359 its pretty cheap for a gasser, and probably swing a bigger prop easier.

That is a very good deal but beleive it or not the st swings the same prop at the same rpms. Btw im stummped, I cant find a muffler for the st that mount vertically so you can mount the engine upside down?

I am sure you can mount the ST upside down But you will definitely need a cline regulator to get it to run right, and keep it from flooding.

The only reason I wanted to run it upside down is so the head wouldnt stick out the side. Im not even sure it will. Will it? Do I need the regulator if its running side ways. Just curious will this make my 27% do 3d hard?

I don't know if you need the Cline Regulator but for hard core 3D it would be a good idea. That way you can put the tank on the CG and the nose up throttle response wont suffer.

mikmaxx,
Both Slimline and Bisson make pitts style mufflers for a side and inverted tigre mount. I currently am flying an Ultimate with the 3250 inverted and using the Slimline which is a wraparound style. I do not have a Cline regulator installed but have not experienced the need for one. I am using muffler pressure and RedMax 5%Tigre blend fuel.
This motor was well broken in before I installed it inverted into this plane which does make a difference with the tigre's. All up weight is just over twelve pounds and hovers are great (NX 18-10prop). No monster pull out, but enough..
