We have just flown it. Well what a disappointment.....
The 46fx has not enough power to fly the plane (3d anyway).
Any sort of vertical maneuver is sluggish. We used an Apc 12.25X3.75 prop which is pretty standard for a fun fly type model.
Roll rate was crisp and clean however the model was nose
heavy, as no CG was recommended in the kit and we played it safe for the first flight.
Knife edge flight was not possible due to it being nose heavy, it would just fall out towards wingtip. We used a JR 8411 on rudder pull-pull.
With a larger motor (any suggestions welcome) and a bit of playing
with the CG this should improve the flight performance a lot.
The finished all up weight was 5.3 lbs

now i gotta buy one, i could have sworn that the thing would be awesome. I think that I will put a saito 100 in mine, and all digitals, and tail heavy.

Any updates to this flight report? How many rpms was your OS 46 turning the 12.25 x 3.75 prop? What was the CG location you chose to fly it at?
Thanks, I'm considering getting one.

My Feedback: (2)
I too was seriously considering this plane but when I looked closer at the plane it worried me. To me it looked like the body was a small round tube with a canopy glued to it. I was concerned that it would have poor knife edge with so little side area. It will be interesting to see how this plane finally comes out. At 5.3 lbs I think a saito .72 or ys .63 would be good.

Bummer..........
The Irvine 53 will blow the 46 away and you can never go wrong with a YS 63.
Does it make the cool noise when you roll it, like the big ones?

Ive got one with an irvine 53 with a 13 x 4 wide blade. very nice on aileron superb on elevator not so good on rudder and the irvine 53 / 13x4 is ok. with a 12.25 x 3.75 it would not hold it own weight in a torque roll.

Since the above flight report I posted above some time ago
I decided to "offload" the skydancer.
It was marginal to say the least, with a 46fx, a ys63 would be a better choice but I was not gunna spend the $$$.
Knife edge flight was HOPELESS to say the least so I lost intrest in this bird REAL quick!!
I found that hovering was quite good and harriers etc were good
as is does not wing rock much at all.
hope this helps
I put my money towards a fiberclassics 330L
and I'm real happy!!!
