Chinn Yak profile or, if you can find one, Laser 3D. Laser 3D is a great flying birds, just don't put the wing tips on it.

I like the CA Funky 40. It comes in at about 4.5lb ready to fly. Great plane to fly. It's available at Aeroworks

I'd definitely choose the Chin Yak over the Something Extra!

I'd second the laser vote, but don't expect much pull-out from a 46.

You'd more likely have success with a cougar type fun-fly, but I don't know what kits are available except the Dave Smith Panther, and i think thats UK only

The Something Extra is NOT a 3D plane, even with tail mods. I tried modifying the tail and it didn't work. The funky is only a little better. If you want it in the .40 size AND you want good 3D with a .46, you will end up with a modern profile at around 4 lbs. At about 4.5- 5 lbs, you will loose adequate 3D power with a .46. My suggestion is the Chin Yak, MOJO, EF-edge, Bad boy, or the OMP- edge/yak.

Have to agree with the rest, Somethin' Extra is a nice sport plane. Not really 3D capable. I know, as I have one that is for sale.
