Is the Lanier 540 really the bottom line for a good 3D with my Saito 180?
I just crashed my H9 540 for the same reason everybody else crashes theirs---- Snap roll to the ground....
I am looking for unlimited vertical for my saito 180... Any suggestions?
Thanks for your input..

Mine is great...and i imagine others will agree with me.....The Lanier Heavy? mine with a OS 1.60 is 10 1/2 pounds? How much do your Hanger Nine 540's weigh? My lanier will do all the 3D a Hanger 9 will do and the best blenders that i've seen...

I have to agree with T28pilot. I just finished my Lanier 540 (2nd edition). It is 12 lbs with an OS 1.60. I only have 5 flights on it so far. Already I have done Hovering, flat spins, blenders, Knife edge loops, tumbles, harriers. It does a "Wall" that pivots 90 degrees on the wing spar. The plane is rock solid, and very responsive. It is soooooo much better to fly than my Aeroworks 60/90 Edge 540. I am very pleased.

Hi! T28pilot
I have a lanier edge540t-120 plan, too. However, I don¡¦t know what kind of engineer should I install on it. I am wondering how is the os160 engineer that you have installed. Will it be able to do 3D?

What do you guys think about a Brison 2.4 or a BME 2.7 in the Lanier 540 Edge 1.20 size. I just bought one and I am now looking for a motor ???

Hey Jeff,
I just got my Lanier Edge 540 the other day and after scoping it over I decided to go with an MVVS 1.6 gasser w/ the upgraded ign. A friend of mine has one on his Sig Cap 231 and it performs GREAT and is a very smooth and dependable engine! If I'm not mistaken this engine weighs right in there with the OS 160 which will help out alot since the wing area is only 1008 sq. in. I wanted to keep the wing loading as low as possible and since I dont use glow engines I thought this might be a good power plant for this plane. I dont know the weight of the BME or Brison but you might want to consider it with the small wing area.
