Default 3D prop for ys140 sport

I have been looking for the last 4 hours and only found 1 post. I need to buy one today in the next 2 hours.

What do you guys recommend?? The only 2 I saw were the apc 17x6W and 17x8. This will be on a Funtana 90 running 30% heli fuel.

I saw a ys110 spinning a 17x4w on 30% heli fuel and it seemed to be to little (no tach to verify rpm's).

TIA

I personally like the 17x8 N for this engine for AA - not just 3D..... better response out of the hover than the 17x8

I think you will like Mejzlik 18x6 or Bolly 19x6 CF. Both these will get you to mid 9k rpm and about 18 lb. of thrust. They are also lighter than APC, so response will be good.

I had no idea this engine could turn these props at this rpm. I was approached with an equal trade for a new os160/pitts muff.. Now I may have to rethink this.

You will find the YS 140 on 30% nitro will approach the power of OS 160 w/ Bisson Pitts. I've owned both and have the number to prove. The thing with large 2 stroke is that you don't get much performance gain w/ nitro increase, and you get a power hit w/ scale muffler. Now, if you pipe it, it's a different story. Oh by the way, if you are spoiled with YS mid range, you probably can't stand the midrange of OS 160 w/ Bisson Pitts.

My YS 140 DZ on 30% nitro will swing Bolly CF @ 10200 rpm (21 lb. measured thrust), which is scarily fast for that motor. Bolly CF is thin, so it swings much faster than other props of the same size.

17X4W or 17X6

I run a 17x4W on mine but you have to watch your throttle managment but also gives you nice and smooth throttle control all the way for some nice harriers and hovering on the deck.

WILD, Get to Tulsa and lets do some on the deck 3D.

You got my # Call me.
