3dbatixkid uses a Moki 2.1 on his near sea level and his hovers...
I doubt a Moki 1.8 at 5K ft. would hover it...
Look for posts by 3dbatixkid and there will be plenty of info for ya on this. You might also want to write to him and ask him.
Good Luck!

Well, the 1.8 at 5k...................i think that you will have trouble there. The new DP kits are lighter due to laser cut parts, and here at sea level, the 1.8 is plenty of power. At 5k though, I think that you would not be impressed. The only advice that I can offer is the use of a ZDZ 50 gas. Would be more than enough power here, but Im not sure what it would be like up there.

3dbatixkid thanks for the info . I have a few more ? for you what is the torque on your servos for each of your controll surfaces, and do you use 4 servos on aileron. I have A knew DP 330 on order and I am trying to set it the best I can with going over my cash limet. How easy does it hover at sea level. My friend has a 13 pound CAP and it has the power to hover with the moki 1.8 .I need as much info as I can get and would be much appreciacated.

My servos are JR 8411s, and they have 155oz of torque. I am running only one servo per aileron, but on the Edge that I am going to get, I will put 4 servos. The servos that I will use will probably be JR 9411s which are minis, but have 80 oz of troque a peice. Mine hovers very well at sea level. I think that as long as you keep the weight down, around 13 pounds since you say that you have seen a cap pull good at that weight, then you wil be fine. It should not be hard to keep it light. You can use a nylon motor mount, and maybe even Powerflites for batteries. Also since the new kits are lighter than the old ones, you shouldnt have a problem.

Would 4 55oz servos with metel gears work on ailerons. Do you use pull pull on your elevator or 2 servos for each half.Is pull pull a bad choice for the elevator.

That would make for 110 oz a peice, so, yeah, that would work. I have both my elevator servos in the tail, and pull pull on the rudder.pull pull elevator is not bad, I just needed the sevos in the tail to balance the plane.
