Hi all,
I am putting together a new ultra rc giles. I am using a O.S. 160 FX. I have used this motor before with other planes, and always used the APC 18x6w. I want to slow the motor down a bit this time, and want suggestions for other props to try in the 18-20" range. I fly both sequence and 3D. the plane should be about 10.5 to 11 lbs. I want to hear your opinion, If you have tried differnt props and prefer the APC, let me know that to!
Thanks,

Pro Zingers.... in ANY size are probably just a notch or two BELOW (okay, WAY below) the WORST Master Airscrew you can imagine. They are SOFT wood, and un-twist on acceleration. They provide TONS of rpms, making the unsuspecting buyer think that he's got a great thing going. Then, the takeoff, followed by sluggish vertical, and nearly-non-existent acceleration from slow speed.
I've used Menz, Mezjliks, Bollys and APC's on the OS 1.60 on many airplanes, up to a 1/4 scale GP Wagstaff Extra. It did a terrific job with a Bambula 18 x 10....
Pro Zingers is more accurately a description of what just happened to the buyer..... he was "zinged" by a "pro"..... save your money....buy a more rigid prop.

Hi Bob,
In a PM a few months back you mentioned the 18x10; I was a little wary of it because i thought It may be a little fast. What RPM's am I looking for, mid 8K?
I do fly sequences and the prop would be O.K. for that, but how about for 3-D? hovering?
At the moment you have me leaning to the Bambula...

Can't tell ya about 3D, Brian.... never done it....the 10 pitch COULD be a little fast, but you can always move the left stick DOWN to address that. An 8 pitch probably would give you what you're after, and you'd be approaching 9K.... mid 8's on the 10.... on 15% with a Bisson Pitts, pinched ends cutoff.
Just don't get an un-twister prop... it would really disappoint you.

RC Showcase sells the Bambula... I'm not aware of other distributors.
Menz standard are DANG good... as are the BME laminated props, and the NX.... All are heavy loaders...
