RE: Help me choose another 3d plane
Chris ... forget the Katana/Yak 50, high wing loading despite seeing how well the review video is for the Katana. Best combo for a 40 sized all round scale 3D plane is the Fliton Extra 330 and perhaps the new Edge 540. Its big and light. If you want pure 3D mayhem then many will tell you to fly a profile, I had the Hokusei and its really nice for pure 3D. The Fliton Extra is a real all rounder, mate it with a SA82 and you will be having a ball.

Bowling ball with DA 50 should hover ok The Aero Works Edge looks like a good bet, but possibly not the best bet for all out 3d stuff. What about the powerline Edge? read some good stuff about it. Im biased, get a Funtana with A saito 91

Save up and get a bigger plane. They will fly circles around the rest. I promise. You can easily have a big plane for what you have in two nicely setup small planes.

RE: Help me choose another 3d plane
Hello, if I was you I'd visit a few flying sites to see some 3D planes in action and talk to the pilots directly or maybe e download some videos. That will give you a much better idea. Different people have different preferences, so it is not easy to make recommendations via the net. Frankly I would be careful to choose a plane ONLY based on comments here in RCU. Some members which I have seen flying, post a lot of stuff here about Wing loadings, 3D capabilities, etc to recommend a plane, but when it comes down to the practical, the flying part, I start to wonder where this so called expertise all of a sudden has gone... But hack, it is a free world, isn't it?

A bowling ball with a DA 100 (not 50) if your best bet. If you use the DA 100 you will have just the right amount of overpower to do all the 3D moves. I can speak from experience, the bowling ball flat spins great. It will even do a Horizontal flat spin. Now try that with your favorite 3D plane.

ive thought about a big plane.. but i still want to be able to enjoy learning and practicing... not to mention i hate flying high... seems to me it would put me under more pressure w. a big plane...err not to crash it... i know bigger flies better tho[8D]
