I am looking at buying this kit and putting a OS or Magnum 1.08 2 stroke on the kit but before I did I wanted some opinions on this setup, specifically the kit and would this size engine give me a 1.5 to 1 thrust to weight ratio?. I am looking for a .60 size, fully 3D capable kit. I am open to any suggestions. Please give me some ideas of a kit that would fit the bill.
Thanks
Jeff

Go here for a full review I wrote a couple of years ago: http://webpages.charter.net/rcfu/Kit...Extra300S.html.
I currently fly mine w/ a OS 120 Surpass, which gives excellent performance. A fellow club member has powered his w/ a ST 90 2-stroke with equally good results. A 1.08 size engine would be an excellent match IMO, but I have no direct experience w/ Magnum brand engines.
Have fun - you're going to love this plane!

I am flying mine with a Thunder Tiger .91 4-stroke. It is lacking in power for sure. I plan to change engines in the near future to a TT 1.20 2-stroke, probably overkill but I have heard alot of good about that engine so I want to get one. The 1.08 should be a good match. I have not used any Magnum engines but I have many A.S.P. engines which are apparently exactly the same as the Magnums, made in the same factory too. The A.S.P. engines are great, very reliable but seem a bit heavy. If you don't mind putting down the extra cash get the O.S. 1.08 that is an excellent engine. Make sure you use decent servos in this thing if you want to 3D.
