Hi All,
hope i put this in the right thread.
there doesn't seem to be to many mode 2 pilots in Australia that i know of and i wash hoping to get some help with one particular part of my flying i am really struggling with.
I can pretty much do most of the common 3d maneuvers but i am really struggling with rolling circles. A few of my mates that fly mode one say its pretty easy but when i ask them th explain how they do it so i can transfer it to mode 2 i just can get it right.
Is there any type of media that i could read /listen or watch that would help me shed some light on how to do this maneuvers.
I have a Sim but even on that i am finding it a little difficult.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Blackfox.

G'day Mate
I know the feeling of being the only flyer around on a Mode - I Fly Mode 1 and when I went to live in the US for a while last year, I was the only Mode 1 pilot that I knew of there - kinda made it difficult knowing that no matter what, you just had to do it all yourself. The result was that when I started flying Choppers there, I decided to learn them on Mode 2 - now that I am in China - everybody I've met so far flies Mode 1 - including their choppers, Just can't win on that one.
There are actually quite a few Mode 2 pilots in Oz. Here is the clubs link to the Queensland body. I am sure that there will be some excelent Mode 2 instructors or other contacts there.

Good luck
BTW - Rolling circles are easy - you just do a circle whilst rolling!!
(Only joking - I can't do them either!)

Hi,
I fly mode 2, and to start with I couldnt do rolling circles to save myself.
In the end I used straight rolling passes, slowing the roll rate down on each one to smooth the rudder inputs,
rolling circles at high rate using ele only,
then start doing point rolling circles,
then integrate everything.
It will take a lot of practise, but its worth it. A mode 1 flyer can get away with moving the rud/ele stick in a circle to achieve the desired result, mode 2 takes a bit of thought
