Default A good F3A/3D plane

Dear All,

I'm in the process of buying an F3A/3D plane in the .46 (2S) class. At first I would like to use the plane mostly as pattern ship, later on I'd like
to learn some 3D. I'd also like to use .46 2S engine, as I already have one (MVVS).

So far I found the following candidates:
- freestyle rush http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_gu...fm?kit_id=3194
- CMP Quest 50 http://www.raidentech.com/cmpqu54nigas.html
- Weston Groove Freestyle http://www.westonuk.co.uk/index_059.htm

I have found reviews, articles and discussions on Groove and Rush, but nothing on Quest 50. Does anyone have any info on that model?
Which of those models would you recommend?

I know this is not on your list, however the OMP Fusion would be a great choice.

I flew the larger Fusion in a couple of pattern contest and won, one of them.

YNOT,

thanks, but I'd prefer a "volume" fuselage, not a flat one.

Those planes would fly pattern fairly well with a 46 but I think for 3D they will lack.

You will probably be able to hold them in torque roll but would have very little pull out authority.

Check out the [link=http://www.aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=261]CA Model Epsilon 40[/link].
I have the 90 size and like it a lot. It does all F3A maneuvers and is no slouch when it comes to 3D either.

Well I know you say you want a full body fuse but honestly you should take a closer look at the Fusion. Very good reviews and great combo of pattern and 3d capability. This plane was designed from the ground up to be both pattern and 3D. Check out the videos at: http://ohiomodelplanes.com/52fusionarf/. Not considered a 3d trainer as this is an advanced skill plane but extremely capable.

I will second the Ca model Epsilon. I have the 90 size and we have 2 40 size in our club as well.

It is probably one of the best all around versatile flyers I have seen. A 46 on one of these will give great performance but not good 3D.

I have seen one with a asp 60 and one with a st75 and they were 3D monsters.
