Hey guys,
Another question about the Sig Somethin' Extra: I've been flying around without the tail support flying wires installed and haven't had a problem. I did this because I think someone on here said they weren't necessary.
Somebody chastized my recently and told me I better get those things installed or I'm liable to have some serious problems. Is this true? Should I get to work installing those things?
Thanks for the advise in advance,
Mike

My Feedback: (32)
Mike,
when I had an SSE I first had them on. One day one of the plastic clevises broke so I took them all of and literally beat the crap out of the plane. Now this was my thord plane so I was not doing anything really violent with it but I did fly it had.
I would think as long as the stabs are glued in well you would be OK. If you felt better with them on replace the thick 2-56 wire with a decent test fishing line. All you to do is make sure the stabs cannot flex too much so you do not need a lot of tension on them.

Thanks for the tips. I see your tag line everywhere (I will not buy any more planes...) and its awesome. Funny 'cuz its true.
I think I'll just be safe and install the damn things. Trouble is, I modified the rudder and elevator and added counterbalances so now the dowel holes are in the counterbalnaces and not in the fin/stab. I'll have to drill new holes and install new "hardpoints".
Anyone else wanna weigh in?

Yeah, I was going to put them on last night and I was sitting there with these pushrods, solder clevises, and no 3/16 dowel thinking to myself "man this is going to be a freakin pain." And then I gave up and put new servos in my acromaster.
We'll see if I get motivated to actually install them.
