If you have Nero...

under the Smart Start (the main menu thingy) select DVD, then under "Copy and Backup" select:

Burn Image to disc (see pic)

It should load the program and give you a file requestor... you can then browse to where the ISO is...

(See pic)

Note the "filetype" drop down shows NRG, ISO and CUE... if yours does not... change this to ALL filetypes and select the ISO then...

I am an idiot. I forgot that in order to watch movies on my DVD player, I have to turn on my stereo receiver. Time for turkey. BTW, is the music in the video dubbed in or was it actually playing during the competition? Thanks guys.

maudib - your Nero pics and procedure is exactly what I did to make mine work when the CDBurner XP Pro did *not* work. No other changes, just ran the Nero "thingy". Made three copies already. Effortless.

Funny what happens when the software works right. Amazing.

Eric - Maxell DVD -R , bought a stack at Wally World yesterday. I have a Lite On 16X DVD burner, it came with the Nero Media Suite that I installed. I didn't have to do anything else to make it work.

Here is a link to a bevy of DVD/CD burning software. some are free, some trialware or shareware (which would get you by to burn this disk) and some commercial:

The music on the DVD was not dubbed. It's the actual music that was playing during the competition.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Ok..apparently yousendit.com doesn't honor what they claim hence the busted files.

The alternative for now until we get some additional site mirrors up and/or excess bandwidth to burn is to use the bittorrent solution. you can read more on that within this thread. The bittorrent allows you to skip all the combining and hashing steps and just download the full iso in one shot. you only have to use your existing bittorrent client if you have one or download and install any bittorent client (i.e. utorrent). These are explained throughout this thread. check www.rcuvideos.com/dvd for a link to the exact post if you don't want to hunt through the pages here for it

Also with each additional user on the torrent the downloads to all users gets faster as the bits are shared peer to peer! This is very cool stuff and we are excited about having such a good size file to test this out to see how viable it is for future distributions to members of these free DVD's. Doing downloads from our servers can get extremely costly. We have pushed throughput at times over 500Mbps and over a dozen terabytes in very short order just on our servers (excluding any existing torrent traffic).

Be aware guys with the message 'Disk full,'

I scratch my head for a while and realize that my HDD has FAT32 file system: you need NTFS file system. (I had plenty of room available, of course...)

It's not difficult to change FAT32 to NTFS:

Exit all apps. Then Start--> Run--> type CMD (enter). You'll have a DOS windows. At the command prompt type convert X: /FS:NTFS where X it's the letter of the drive you'll like to convert. Don't do anything while converting. When finish, reboot.

Of course, all the warnigs here: do it at your own risk, back up as necessary, blah, blah, blah.

Have luck and enjoy.

it will get faster as more users start the download. you are pulling from the peers that are online. as more clients come online they share more pieces of the puzzle. the torrent client puts them altogether. I show 8 of 16 online now connected so the numbers are going up and every user adds to the pool. once they pull a chunk you don't have your client can pull it from them and vice versa. It scales up very quickly and now that this is (for now) the only way to grab this besides the 1 or 2 mirrors the usage and speed should rapidly increase.

Also to anyone that already has downloaded it (whether from the torrent or not) please do us a favor and keep your bitorrent clients open so other users can pull chunks from you. this will help to seed the system faster. If you have not used the torrent yet but do have the iso file already you can install utorrent.com client and locate the iso on your disc and add it and then your system will be part of the pool and further increase the speed.

Just to reemphasize ... Keep your Torrents running once you have downloaded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Currently I have 14 people trying to download from me because it doesn't appear that anyone else is hosting a complete copy.

Please put your complete files back up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

I have a complete copy shared... and 14 people D/Ling... that's how it works... BitTorrent downloads a little from each host.

yes. just different clients. you can use either I believe and will work fine

also nobody needs to have a complete copy technically although any that do does help. the clients will pull the chunks from the peers and put them altogether. theoretically we could get 100 to 500 peers up and running and then everyones will get much faster

If you are using the uTorrent client go to their help section to see how to increase your speed. There are a couple of setting that need to be updated to get your system running at the optimal speed. You might have to change the port and set the port forwarding on your Router.

It sounds like we should have at least 4 seeders out there so the downloading should be moving along pretty well.
