Guys,
Can anyone out there give me some advice on the Modeltech Magic 3D? I have seen this plane for years, but never gave a care for it. Now, I have a .46 engine and it needs a new home. The Magic looks really good, now how about the performance? Any input would be fantastic. Thank You.

Hmmmm....... quite a thought. Does it do the usual 3D? I have the E-flite Tribute. I LOVED how it flew. I just retired it. I just might get the Tribute (H9). Does the .46 pull it out of a hover well? Does it even hover well on a .46?

The 46 in the magic is a good combination, thats what mine was in until it basically wore out, the 46 is now in the Modeltech 3 Demon, awesome cobination, one of the few fun flies that will knife edge even knife edge loop

I bought one when they first came out. I put a Saito .56 in it and after 20 flights I put it in the attic. Sold it just last summer for $50.00. My .02 worth.

Your skills must have been way ahead of the Magic it's something an expert wouldn't enjoy but for the average flyer it's a fun plane
I've had mine for 2 years now and still have fun with it

It does do all of the usual 3d. This was the first planes I have done Inverted flat spins, water falls and hovers with. The plane only calls for a .36. Mine will pull out of a hover with the .46ax and a 12x4 apc at 1/2 throttle (the 46 require mount modification not hard to do)
I let a friend fly my first one and he crashed it. But I loved the plane so much I had to buy another one.

I already have a U-Can-Do .46 with a Saito 1.00 on it. I think I am going to buy the Matt Chapman Cap 580 (.46) and put my .46 on it. I might just use the 580 for sport, some flatspins, tumbles, but I'm sure it won't hover very well with a .46 on it. My U-Can-Do does fine. I'm just concerned if the .46 will be enough power to pull an upline on the 580. I appreciate all the inputs on the Magic and the Tribute. Thanks!

How heavy is the CH C580?
When I sold the M3D I got a GP Ultimate that came in at 7 pounds for the 46. The 46FX pulled even stronger with the SLpitts. With a 12x4apc it could just about hold a hover, but no pull out.(did these up high with this plane). It had good power for sporting around--seemed to have a lot of vertical. It did much better than I was expecting it to.

i have my magic, it's a good plane, dont have a great 3d performance, you can make hovers, flat spins harriers, blenders and some times rolling harriers. you can see my videos, i hope this can be useful for you.
