Default ucd and saito 120?

There are a few guys here in Colorado that have saito 1.20 in there UCD, They fly awsome! Mine had a .91 saito and it flew pretty good, more power is better for me! Do what you feel needed, I like my planes to Rocket vertical from a hover.

The advantage of Saito 120 for UCD over other engine is that it's rear exhaust, and can utilize the exhaust channel below to keep the tail servos clean.

Also, Saito 120 is the lightest 120 you can find. With 16x6 APC prop, you will have a perfect combo.

Make sure you build a battery compartment at the tail to balance out the 120 up front. With a regular 91, the balance is about right with battery above trailing edge. The 120 is about 10 oz heavier, and a 3 oz battery pack at the tail may just balance out the 120.

Default Pinhead's UCD Rockets Launches

I saw Pinhead's UCD on Saturday, and it takes off from a hover like it was shot from a slingshot. The Saito 100 is not the perfect motor for the UCD, the Saito 120 is. He was TR'ing that UCD on the deck and hovering it like it was a heli. -Tom

Hello

Guys that already have this combo, did you use the engine mount that comes with the plane? if you used it, what distance from the firewall to the spinner plate did you used it?

Default interestingly...

the plane comes w/ their 120 size motor mount, funny they have a disclaimer against using 120 size engine.
