I have a kit built Dazzler with OS 46FX, APC 12.25x3.75. Have several flights and having a lot of fun, but can I hover with this setup? Not sure if it has enough power, I definitely need more pilot skills and practice. I have read about ultrathrust muffler/pipes but not sure they are worth the money. Also, have an OS 50SX in another plane not seeing much flight time now.

I have the same stuff on my Dazzler, in fact there it is, pictured over on the left!
The Dazzler is kind of a pre-3D plane, and IMHO does not hover well. I can hover my Morris Su-Du-Khoi and my Somethin' Extra, but the Dazzler would rather torque roll.
I think part of the reason is that the ailerons are cut at an angle near the fuselage, which prevents the prop airflow from having much effect in a hover. The other planes have ailerons that hug the fuselage.
