Default RE: Seagull Space Walker 2

I have the Seagull Space Walker II and flew it with a Evolution 46. It flew well with the 46, but if I were building it again, I would put a stronger motor in it. It's speed is adaquate, but needs a little more power for anything verticle. It does large loops and rolls well enough, but I felt it was just a bit underpowered. I would not want much more power, but a little more wouldn't hurt it a bit. It is one tough airplane. I've ground looped it, cartwheeled it on take of and on landings with a minimal amount of damage, busted prop and a broken motor mount once, and knocked the wing mount out once. A new motor mount and it was flying the next day, reattached the wing mount and flew it the next day. One tough ole bird. It did take a while for me to become accustomed to it's tracking on take off however as it was my first tail-dragger.

As for the attachement of the fuel dot, I did not use a fuel dot. I used a fuel-filler (#PL8110034) from world models mfg. at http://www.theworldmodels.com/para/products/search.php

They stock them in 4 colors, red, white, black and I think blue. They're not hardly as stream-lined as the dot, but worked quiet well for me by mounting it on the side of the engine head.

It seams like I actually ordered the fuel fillers from some place in California, but don't recall the name of the hobby shop. At any rate, their web site will give you an idea of what I used and am talking about. You will have to navigate around a bit, but begin by looking under "accessories."

Hope this helps, and always remember, "Experience is a hard teacher. She always gives the test first and the lesson sometime later!"
