Hello all,
I'm putting together a Flip with a Saito 72. What prop do you guys recomend for this combo, and also what fuel are you running in your Saito. Can I use 20/20 fuel?
Thanks,
John

Guys I tooooo have a Saito 72 on my Flip, flew it today for the first time with APC 13x6 sport prop. It fly great pulled out of hovers and scared the living you know what out of me when I tried other 3d stuff. I had a guy at the field that flys 3d fly it and he said all was good he did recomend that for hover and torque rolls to use low rates. I set it up with the recommened 30mm and added 10% more on the rate. It flew great and i am now on my way to learning how to 3d and not be scared. I did have a tank problem, can't get my 72 to draw the last 25% of fuel out of the tank.

Hello,
I flew it today, was not a good day to fly 30mph gusting to 40 winds today.
Had a hard time trying to land in this wind, but got it down in one piece.
I used an apc 13-4 was getting 11000 rpm tuned dowt to 10700.
Using ys 20/20 fuel. This combo has more than enough power cant wait for the wind to die down to get a better feel for the plane.
Thanks for your replies,
John

a friend of mine has one with a Saito 72 on it. I flew it the other day. Nothing short of awesome. We flew it with a 13x6 prop and it would lock into a hover about half throttle and pull out with plenty of authority. We decided to try a 14x4 prop on it. You would not beleive the difference. The plane was all over the sky and neither one of us could hover it.The plane felt like crap.Switched back to the 13x6 and you could hover out a tank of fuel with ease.Go figger! If you try this be sure to unhook it after you fly or you'll have fuel running out of your carb.

Hello
I only get about 9300 with my saito 72 on an APC 14*4W and cool power 15%.
Is this a normal reading?
New plug, and just checked valves.
May be the extended flex exhaust?
Othervice lovely running engine with plenty og power for my 4lbs, 8 oz Extreme Lite.
I will try a 13*6 to se how that works next.

Try the APC 14X5N prop on the Saito 72. I know, why a narrow blade? Just try it, Everyone in our club and the surrounding clubs use this prop on funfly types. It hovers great and spins up faster than the wide blade prop.

Weights of the two engines:
Saito 72 470g, 16.5oz
YS .91 AC 750g, 26.5oz
difference 10oz, both include weight of muffler.
Man, that has to be a tight fit, but I bet the vertical is awesome!!!
The Saito 72 can pull it OK from a hover but I bet it must be a rocket with the YS!!
enjoy!!

i put the light one, with mufler, prop mount and propnut on the scale, tare it, then put the heave one on the scale, and it tells me the difference, which was on the 63 vs the 91 3-5 oz, depending on the long or short hattori muffler.
i have never trusted direct weight comparasons, especially if the weights come from the mfgr/seller
and yeah, it is great with a 16x4 or 16x5 prop and rpm restricted to 11,000
