The planes are virtually the same, but with the wing moved a bit. surfaces are the same, and so are the contorl surfaces, but they are also lighter.

Santi, I think everything is lighter because of the laser cut parts.
icgj, the weather here has not been good. First weekend after I finished the bird, it snowed and didnt thaw in time for the next weekend, then it rained, then the wind was 40+ mph. On top of that I will admit I am nervous. I am only 16 and this is my first low wing.

I was scared on the frist few flights to but thare is nothing to be scared of it flyies vary nice . this plane does not do eney thing wierd. stalls are slow not snapy. I think you wiil be surprised at how easy it flys.

As I understand it....laser cutting allowed them to cut out more material and thus a lighter kit.
I really think the biggest improvement was moving the wings though. Now you won't need a brick in the nose to balance the thing and overall weight will be easier to keep down.
