Default Will a RCV 120 have enough RPMs to hover and t' roll?

Hey guys, I can't find an engine that won't stick out of the cowl halfway, and still provide enough power to get it off the ground. I saw it advertised and it can swing up to a 22" prop at like 5400 RPMs. I'd prolly go with a 20" prop and get anothe 1000 RMP, but would be enough? The bipe has a 63" span and is my own design. I'm having real trouble getting a 50cc engine in a 6 3/4 wide radial cowl. Thanks, Jordan

How much does your bipe weigh? You don't need more rpms on these motors because they swing props with lots of pitch to compensate. From what I hear, you should definately stick with the recommendations for prop, fuel, etc. If other 120 size 4-S would be enough, this one should too.

I hope you meant 20cc since this would translate to 1.20 size.

Have you thought of mounting a conventional 120 inverted?

The RCV is not intended for 3D usage. I posed that question in the RCV forum. They are made more towards scale flight, where raw power/static thrust arent absolutely necessary. Definately read the RCV Support forum in the engines forum.

No, I meant 50cc. They advertise(and I've read) that it will swing those big props, just not that high of an RPM. I'm hopin my bipe will come in at under 16 lbs, as I'm making no effort to build light. I guess this isn't the engine for me. Jordan
