Ok, heres the history. Started with heli's around a year ago (was kind of off and on), now into forward flight, figure 8's and working on nose in hover. Decided I wanted a plank, so started with a Hangar 9 P51 PTS, loved it, was up to flying w/o the "training gear" using flaps, etc, but lost it due to radio issue, probably low battery (unable to find battery after crash to check it). Moved to a 40 Ultra stick with crow set up, again having a good time, lost it on landing during a wind gust (I was #3 of 5 crashes that day)...tried to power up and she just flipped and wendt. Now have a Sig Somthin Extra, and back to having a blast, also have a Top Flite Spitfire that has seen few flights due to engine problems (now fixed, and ready to try again).
Now looking for something sturdy to start working on a little 3Dt. I have a YS120 that needs a home. Have been thinking about the Sig Mayhem, Edge 540T, Yak...somthing along those line. Any thoughts??? Not really intrested in profile planes
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I run a YS120 in my Funtana and its a great combo. Lots of extra power left over. I bet a Showtime would be a good set up with that engine as well.

Sturdy = Heavy...don't bother. The SIG Mayhem is a heavy sport-plane...don't bother. 540T and Yak are good scale aerobats, but he Yak is far superior in almost every way, depending on the mfg.
I think QQ is making a small Yak for that size engine. Look into QQ...I love mine. It's small, (85"), but flies like a bigger plane.
Good Luck!!

I had a 1.20 in a Mayhem, probly the best 3-D combo I have ever had, I currently have the 1.20 in a Show Time. The Show Time flys very well on a 17x6 APC. The Mayhem came in at 8.5lbs and the Show Time is right at 10lbs. I run Magnum #1 or #2

Showtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have showtime with ys110, cool power 25% apc 16 x 6, hitec 5945's and 5625's and it is an amazing plane....and colin bell, who was living near me for a while working at great hobbies, and Ramz who is rcu member thats his screen name both really liked how the plane flew aswell...its an awesome plane KE is awesome, its easy to balance, tank on cg battery behind wingtube, nothing up front ( maybe more tail heavy than you would like ) it will hover and rolll with or opposite tourque no problem, pull out is unlimited, and the list goes on....
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_53...tm.htm#5398404 there is a thread i started just to see if i was setting up same as other people....i changed some things near the bottom and now my battery is behind the wingtube instead of against the firewall ( made a big difference.)

Showtime or Funtana X100 are good birds for 3D,they are affordable, easy to fly when turned down in rates and keep educating at a rate set by the pilot.
