I am in need of some expert opinions and advice. I have an OS 120 w/pump and am looking for a plane to fit it. I am going in circles between about six options and need your help. Let me know which plane you think would best fit this engine as far as 3D and Aerobatics goes. Here are the options:
1. Goldberg Edge 540 67"
2. Goldberg Yak 54 67"
3. Seagull Edge 540 68"
4. Seagull Yak 54 63"
5. Hangar 9 Showtime 4D 66"
6. Hangar 9 Frenzy 100 61"
If you have any advice help me out. I have read and researched all I can and now I need some expert advice to get me leaning towards ONE plane. Let me know what you think! Thanks.

I was actually looking at the profile but I like the looks of the aerobatic models a little better. I have heard the katana v2 is a really nice plane though so I will keep that in mind. Out of the 7 options there which one is the best for my 1.20 4-stroke?

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate the help. I think I might just get all 6 (and the katana v2) so I don't have to decide. I wish! Thanks again and if you have any more suggestions feel free to let me know.

asmatt, you are not going to get any of those planes to fly as well as the katana or any other 60 size profile for that matter. This is because these 60-70 size profiles have over 1000 inches of wing area but weigh in at 6-7 pounds. My katana came in at 6.4 pounds with my sk 91 2 stroke. Hovers at 35% throttle. No matter were i point the plane it just doesn't want to stall
. All of the planes you have listed have 800-1000 inches of wing area but weigh in at 9-10 pounds. To fly really good 3d you want the plane to be lite on the wing but still have a good power:weight ratio. Unless you get a profile you will have to compromise between the two. You will either have a plane that is underpowered but very lite on the wing OR you will have a overpowered plane that flies like a brick. The katana 70 profile or mojo 60 for that matter will give you a very good power to weight but will be VERY lite on the wing.

katana 70
http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/62katanaarf/index.htm
notice the YS 110 combo they have in there. Your 120 shouldn't be a problem
Mojo 60, it is a kit but aparently flies better from what i have herd.

I suppose the katana it is then. I barely have enough time to put the ARF's together let alone a kit. Thanks for all the help. Any other profiles you would suggest? Do you have the katana? From some of the things I have read, I have heard some negative things about the quality. Is that true?

Hi asmatt
There are two different types of katanas, there is the accel hobby katana gs 70 and the katana 70 v2. I decided to go with the v2 for a couple reasons. It is a two piece wing and was biult with a stronger profile fuse. The GS aparently comes out lighter but isn't as strong. I own the kat 70 and love it so far. I am doing stuff that i couldn't even dream to do with my funtana. The hardware package is of GREAT quality IMO. The arf is well assembled and the under side of the wing has clear yellow or blue (depending on what main color you get). It allowed me to see how the plane was biult. All the parts were perfectley cut. Was beautifly put together. It is really an easy biuld. Other than 1-1/2 hours routing the tail servos through the fuse the rest of the plane took me about 3 hours to biuld.

Asmatt, How good are your flying skills? That really needs to be in concideration of the planes yo listed. Frankly i have flown most of the planes on your list. The Yaks are going to be quick on the ailerons, quick to roll= quick to stall. Esp. if you are not used to stall tendencies. The goldberg edge i flew with a ys 120 four stroke and the plane was awesome. It had bad tip stall tendencied that could be tamed with the use of rudder. Very stable in harriers, hovers, and elevators. We flew it with a regular os120 and it didn't have enough oomph. We now fly a Seagull Edge with a saito 125 and it is well powered and flys very good. I am not sure the showtime would be perfect with your motor but it will be close.
Your motor is too heavy for the profile reccomended.

I am using the same servos from my x50
hs 475 on alerions, elevator, throttle
.22 61oz in at 4.8v
hs635 on the rudder
.18 69oz in at 4.8
Even at 35oz i don't think it will be too much of a problem. A 91 4 stroke would not be as fun on this plane. Contact OMP and see what thye say.

I just finished my seagull yak a coulple weeks ago and it really flies good. You could also look into the funtana x100 (which I have flown and like it a lot. Can fly really SLOW!) Also you might look into the sig mayhem. I have flown that too. It is very very aerbatic. can do a raising flat spin. Never done it but the people on the thread said they did it and it looked really cool. It also flies very slow. The yak want fly as slow witch is the only thing I dont like about it. The 120 should be GREAT for the yak, x100, and the mayhem. I have a ys 1.10 on my yak and it has really good power and its not even broke in yet. If I had to choose it would either be for the x100 or the mayhem. I would not trade my yak for anything (I was planning to get either the mayhem or the x100 but I won the yak at a fun fly so it would be stupid to buy one of the others) ut if I was to get another plane of its size and didnt want to spend a bunch like on a aero-works yak then it would probably be the funtana or the mayhem. The only bad thing about the mayhem is its wing. Its like 70 somthing inches and its one piece bolt on. But it SURE does fly good.

The general consensus sounds like the Showtime is the best bet. Cambo you have talked me into the katana, I already ordered one but I think I am going to go with the Saito 100. I really like the Edge so that might have to be a Spring project with a Saito 125. So should the 1.20 go on the Showtime?

Asmatt since you still have the 120 avaliable check "the world models"
They have a bunch of planes biult around 120 4 strokes. I noticed oned that i havn't seen fly but as a really GOOD wing area for the weight

Hey Cambo. I talked to OMP and they said it might be a little much for that plane so I cancelled the order. They suggested the 67" OMP Fusion. Do you know anything about this model or could you suggest another one?
