The best flying airplane in this class is the Velxo by Maxair. It's clearly the best. I've had the Showtime, Fusion, UCD, Mayhem, Funtana all with the mighty 110. The Velox clearly out flys them all. It's a great plane. The quality is average but with a little glue here and there it's a good plane. www.maxairrc.com
You won't be sorry if you get this plane. It will meet all your expectations.
Thanks

I have also had the Showtime,Funtana X100, EF Yak(68" wing), U- Can-Do .60-.90, and Velox. The Velox is the best all-around 3-D'er IMO, I'm just having troubles with the weight/or engine power for hovering, its a little over 9 lbs. At 8.25 to 8.5(if you are good /lucky)the Velox would be awesome. It is a little "fast" in some maneuvers like rolling harriers,High Alpha Knife Edge, if that doesnt bother you, get it. If you want a slower, more gentle 3-D'er(like a trainer sort of), try the X100 or even maybe the Do. BEWARE OF THE SHOWTIME, it can snap out suddenly with 3-d deflection, have seen 2 of them at my field, both are "snappers", cant get down on the deck with any confidence.

if it snaps really bad then dont pull full elevator going fast. it just has a really sensitive elevator so you don't need 50-60 degrees of deflection.
and they hover pretty good....

the showtime in this vid is mine. i like it, it flies well, but i've had some motor trouble...ys 110....i have it out of the plane now and will run it on the bench to see what the problem is....the motor is awesome, the plane is awesome and it flies 3d and pattern amazing! i think you should go for it. its also very easy to see in the air and you dont lose orientation.

funtana is a blast to fly...all of them are, the old and new ones...but they're not very precise. that's the only bad thing about them. they 3d well and they float nice but just aren't very precise.

yea, you need those elevators! I saw some on the tread. I think that is the plane I am going to get once I sell my yak. How will hitec 645 mgs do? do I really need digitals?

If you show them the money, it doesn't matter how you say it!!! Digitals to me are not a must, I used to think so, but now I can do what I want with standards like Hitec HS635-80 oz. @ 6 volts. It will be a little slower at some things, but that could be a plus if you are just getting into it.
Showtime: All the Showtimes I've had & seen snapped with less than full 3-D elevator AND slower speeds too, it is more a pattern plane than a fully 3-D capable plane, it might do some 3-D but it will go in if you fly it like any other full 3-D plane.

I think I will stick with my 645mg. Do you think 6v or 4.8? I have never used 6v so do I need a reg? or can I run it just like I run the 4.8? What size batt. will get me good flying time?

on 3d planes, I think digitals are worthy in elevator, because the difference between low rates and high rates makes you lose too much presition on low rates, thus the plane feel less erratic when trying to fly on a straight line

Every Hitec servo I've ever used works with 6V or 4.8, you get a little more speed & torque @ 6v, no regulator is needed (again for Hitec anyway.) I often use a mix of digitals and non digitals-digis on ail & rudder, standard on elevator halves. It works well enough for me, can do most 3-D with this configuration. I have a U-Can Do with all HS635 Karbonite(6.60 size), with a few mods to the plane, I can do everything with these standard servos, the rollling harriers are very slow(but kind of cool I think because of that)but everything else is good-hovers,harriers,walls,no problem with standard servos & 6Volts.
