Default Groovy 50 3D

Hi Guys
I've just bought a World Models Groovy 50 3D, anybody got any experience with this model? YS 63s sitting waiting to play in it. Couldn't find any threads on here.
Would be good to have some thoughts on setups.

Cheers

Rab

Hi Rab,

I also have just placed an order for a Groovy 50 3d. I have a new OS .70 for it.

I was torn between the Groovy 50 3d and its mate the Groovy 3A.

Did you consider both before deciding on the 3D?

Have you flown either before?

Thanks,
Dan

I had the Groovy 50 A version (pattern). Converted to electric power.

Three issues:
-The landing gear is so ridged it comes loose often.

-Watch the incidence on the stab. Mine was off and the plane flew slightly tail down.

-the wing tube had to be shortened by 1 inch (too long).

Have fun.

Hi Guys

Dan, no I didn't look at the 3A, it was kind of an impulse buy(fliton freestyle was out of stock). Its sitting ready to fly have just been running the engine in. Fingers crossed i will get it in the air this week, but work has got me by the short and curlies.
I'm not convinced about the elevator pushrod I am thinking of replacing it with something a bit better, but time will tell.

Servo wise I have 2 Multiplex digitals(can't remember which) on elevator and rudder, JR DS8231's on ailerons and bog standard JR on throttle( may change this to digital if I think it needs it).

nrthwing,
Did you use the supplied elevator setup or another set up? I'm interested to know if this would be necessary. And the important question How did it fly?

Cheers

Rab
