Default Save of the year!

As embarrassing as it is, I had the aileron servos reversed after swapping servos last night in my Midwest Cap. My pre-flight was half-@$$ and I only saw that the ailerons were moving. Took off and it only took a couple seconds to realize what I did, a full left roll with right stick.
Somehow I kept from crashing long enough 'til someone could go into the programming on my 9C and reverse two channels during my flight demo. It was real scary when only one servo was switched, no roll control at all. In the end I'm one lucky SOB. Should have had to bring it home in a bag. Probably all out of good luck after this one. I changed servos because one died in flight yesterday.

I've had nightmares about that! I've practiced reversing servos on my 9C under less stressful situations(in RealFlight). That would be a situation where some rudder roll coupling would actually come in handy!
Good save!

Philip

You sure are lucky! I always check my plane for that, just to make sure that there not reversed.

Mine lasted 2 seconds and finished in a total destruction in a cloud of dust. I think I better like without ailerons at all than reversed ailerons.

i was flying my u can do 3d on first flight and every thing was going good. cranked the 1.08 os up and went to the runway.hollered taking off and fire walled the left stick.
it broke ground and started a left roll and out of instinct i went right. well it snapped over left faster than i could figure any thing out. full down went in and up i went reversed ailerons and all. reversed 1 side of my ailerons and now had flaps and spoiler's on me aileron stick. that is not fun steering a u can with rudder and elevator. went to get the ailerons back to back words because it was flyable i hit the button and the elevator changed to being back words, so I'm having a hell of a good time flying his plane. but hold on it gets worse. the throttle ball link broke and stuck at half throttle. so i go oh shi#. now we have no throttle, no ailerons, and a back words elevator. it goes in behind some trees and we go expecting the worse. we get to it and the cowl has a crack from the broken prop and that was it. it landed in some grass that was thick and like 4 feet tall. that is what i call luck.
